The Oak Tree Inn is located at the heart of the beautiful loch side village of Balmaha, one of the most beautiful parts of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
On our doorstep are activities for all of the family along with stunning natural landscapes. Explore on foot the beautiful Millennium Forrest which is just across the road from The Oak Tree Inn. Alternatively, take the route of the West Highland Way either on its route north along the side of the loch, or south towards the village of Drymen over Conic Hill.
As you look out over the loch you will see Inchcailloch Island, from the top you get amazing views across the islands and beyond, in the spring the island is covered in a blanket of bluebells. You can get there by boat from the boatyard. The picturesque village of Luss on the west side of the loch is also accessible by boat, this time leaving from the pier.
Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park’s flagship Visitor Centre is in Balmaha. There you will find helpful rangers, guides to the area and exhibitions showing the nearby Highland Boundary Fault Line that signifies where the lowlands of Scotland become the highlands.
Next door to the Visitor Centre there is a children’s play park. Children also love to feed the ducks that can usually be found on the edge of the loch.
The Oak Tree Inn also has a village shop and St Mocha Coffee Shop and Ice Cream Parlour, so there is no shortage of things to do in Balmaha. Our friends at Love Loch Lomond & See Loch Lomond also have lots of ideas of things to do on their websites.
