Our Production Kitchen

Chris Gannon (above right) is our Cluster Kitchen Manager, ensuring the highest standard of food across all our outlets. In Balmaha we have The Oak Tree Inn, Village Shop, and St Mocha Coffee Shop, plus two other St Mocha coffee shops at Carbeth and Aberfoyle.

Initially focusing on The Oak Tree Inn, Chris has since utilised his time to help develop the Production Kitchen facility on the banks of Loch Lomond, using the latest technology and equipment to ensure that our guests enjoy a consistently high-quality product.

Growing in our kitchen garden we have many herbs including parsley, coriander and mint. We also have strawberries, apples, plums and rhubarb, which we use in our desserts. You will also find bee hives producing Balmaha Honey, which can be purchased in our Village Shop.

Ice Cream is made on-site in a wide variety of flavours, with a new specialist brought in recently to develop the offering.

Chris works closely with producers in Scotland to ensure the highest quality of ingredients; one of those is local butcher Skinners of Kippen, with whom the business has a long-lasting relationship.

The Oak Tree Inn is popular year-round with guests, but during spells of fantastic weather, things get even busier. Chris ensures that the pub, restaurant, and coffee shops are equipped for increased demand and that our guests eat well.

Chris and the team are enthusiastic about future expansion as The Oak Tree Inn and the overall business goes from strength to strength, and introducing the Production Kitchen will be crucial for that development. We will introduce new ranges across the group in time, so it is an exciting time.
